Dr Sylvia Rosevear BA MB ChB MD FRCOG FRANZCOG
Dr Sylvia Rosevear is a New Zealand Obstetrician and Gynaecologist. Graduating in Medicine from the University of Auckland in 1980, her immediate resident years were spent in Auckland as a registrar in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at National Women’s Hospital, when National Women’s had an international reputation in Obstetrics within the fields of Intrauterine transfusion for rhesus disease, perinatal mortality publications and the burgeoning field of fertility and endocrinology. Her ‘OE’ was initially at High Wycombe, obtaining the MRCOG in 1986 and Research at King’s College Hospital London.
Dr Rosevear then went to Oxford and completed an MD on 'The Computerised Analysis of the Fetal Heart Rate in Labour’. She was a senior Registrar in Bristol and returned to New Zealand in private practice in 1993, practicing both Obstetrics and Gynaecology. She is interested in the endocrinology of the menopause and the maintenance and optimisation of middle-aged health rather than just prevention of pathology.
Dr Rosevear recently completed Diploma in Exercise and Sports Medicine in recognition of the therapeutic efficacy of exercise in health promotion. She is delighted to be part of the AMS board promoting its vision.

Dr Christina Jang MBBS MD FRACP
Dr Christina Jang graduated Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from Monash University in 1994. She undertook advanced training in Endocrinology in Melbourne and received her Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Physicians (FRACP) in 2004. She received a n National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) Scholarship to carry out studies towards her Doctor of Medicine which was conferred in 2008.
She has undertaken research in the area of women’s health and won the Young Investigator Award at the Australasian Menopause Foundation in 2003.
She is a consultant endocrinologist at The Mater Hospital Brisbane and Greenslopes Private Hospital, and honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Queensland. She has a clinical interest in female reproductive endocrinology.

Dr Ashley Makepeace MBBS, FRACP
Dr Ashley Makepeace is a clinical Endocrinologist and completed her Endocrinology training in Western Australia and in Oxford, UK.
Her public appointment is at Fiona Stanley and Fremantle Hospitals. She consults in private health with interests in type 1 diabetes, bone health and women’s health and works as an Endocrinologist within a fertility clinic.
She is a guest lecturer for the medical curriculum at Notre Dame University, Fremantle.
She is the chair of a local interest group of Endocrinologists and Clinical Biochemists with a focus on women’s health.
Dr Elina Safro MB BS, BSc(Med)Hon, Grad Cert SA: Chair of the Education Subcommittee
Dr Elina Safro is a general practitioner with expertise in sexual and reproductive health and over 12 years clinical experience across the full procedural scope in this area of medicine.
Elina practises clinically at Family Planning Australia and Marie Stopes clinics, as well as Royal Prince Alfred Hospital where she has a Visiting Medical Officer appointment in the medical and forensic management of sexual assault. She also serves as Chair, Education Subcommittee of the Board of Australasian Menopause Society and Adjunct Research Fellow at the HER Centre, Monash University. She is a clinical examiner for Australian Medical Council.

Dr Terri Foran MBBS (Syd), MClinEd (UNSW), FAChSHM: NSW/ACT Director
Dr Terri Foran is a Sexual Health Physician and holds the position of Conjoint Senior Lecturer in the School of Women’s and Children’s Health at UNSW Sydney, where she lectures both undergraduate and postgraduate students.
She is a Visiting Medical Officer in the Menopause Hub which was recently established at the Royal Hospital for Women in Sydney.
Dr Marita Long MBBS FRACGP DCH Cert of Sexual and Reproductive Health: VIC/TAS Director
Dr Marita Long is a Victorian based GP working four days a week in clinical practice and one day a week in medical education. After completing her Certificate in Sexual and Reproductive health, Marita worked for Family Planning which has positioned her well to work with women across the various ages and stages of their lives.
Marita is a current committee member for the Australian Society of Psychosocial Obstetrics and Gynaecology, an active member of the RACGP and has served on the board of The Link - an adolescent health service in Hobart. Marita has developed and delivered many educational, face to face and online workshops and is passionate about upskilling GPs to deliver the best evidence-based care to patients, especially women, who so often feel their voices aren’t heard.
Dr Carmel Reynolds MBBS, DCH FRACGP Cert Family Planning: SA/NT Director
Dr Reynolds is a GP with a strong interest in women’s health generally but specifically in contraception sexual health, menopause, and perinatal health. Carmel has worked in rural, regional and metropolitan practices in Western Australia and in inner city Adelaide.
Carmel is a member of the Adelaide Pelvic Pain Network, a multidisciplinary team developed to help care for people with persistent Pelvic Pain. She has presented lectures to students and colleagues on pelvic pain. Carmel was part of the Local Organising Committee for the 24th AMS Annual Congress, 2021 in Adelaide. She is passionate about assisting women manage any symptoms they may be experiencing in midlife and knows good menopause symptom management can be life changing. Carmel looks forward to contributing to AMS by being on the Board and believes she will add value and learn a great deal.
Dr Lauren Goldschmidt MBBS MRCGP DRCOG DFRSH: NZ Director
Dr Goldschmidt is a GP who graduated aftercompleting her GP training in London, UK.
She first worked in sexual health in 2010 and has maintained and broadened her interest in all areas of women health since then. She first worked in a hormone clinic in London in 2014 and completed some British Menopause Society courses. She moved to Christchurch, New Zealand in 2019 and works three days as a GP and one day doing menopause and women health consults specifically.
She is passionate about working with women to optimise all aspects of health particularly around midlife. She hopes to learn a lot being on the AMS Board and help spread the word about safe treatment options for all women experiencing menopausal symptoms.
Dr Amie Hanlon BSc(Hons) MBBS RANZCOG: QLD Director
Dr Amie Hanlon is an obstetrician and gynaecologist who has been in private practice since she receiving her fellowship from The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RANZCOG) in early 2016.
In her time as a private gynaecologist, Amie has been privileged to witness the vast improvement in quality of life that a personalised approach to the management of perimenopause can bring, and truly enjoys guiding women through their menopausal transition as one of the clinicians at the multidisciplinary Menopause Centre in Greenslopes, Brisbane.
Amie also has a special interest in paediatric and adolescent gynaecology, having undertaken a fellowship year in this field as part of her training.
