Menopause Essentials Update 2025
This Menopause Essentials Update was designed as a wrap up of evidence-based management options for menopause and midlife health.
Starting with structuring the initial consultation in the most effective way and finishing with a discussion of complex cases, the Menopause Essentials Update included the latest on hormonal and non-hormonal options and up to date best-practice risk management recommendations across the full spectrum of menopause medicine.
Speakers include: Dr Amie Hanlon, Dr Christina Jang, Dr Samantha Kerr, and Dr Hannah Farquhar.
Interview with Dr Hannah Farquhar about her presentation
Q: Regarding Menopausal Hormone therapy, what information are you sharing with your medical colleagues?
A: How we can safely prescribe menopausal hormone therapy (MHT), including the different hormonal preparations, indications and contraindications, and the benefits and risks.
Q: What key takeaways are you hoping people take from the MEU?
A: Firstly, how to individualise care for women experiencing menopause, and understanding that it's not a 'one size fits all' approach. Secondly, how to discuss the various management options with women to enable shared decision making.
Q: Is there anything specific you’d like to add?
A: It's exciting that there is an increasing interest in menopausal health, and that we have an opportunity to provide education to further enhance awareness and understanding of the evidence.
